Work for PGL this summer

3onFriday: 3 Jobs Abroad Next Summer With PGL

PGL began recruitment for overseas positions on September 1, signalling the first step on the route for up to 2,500 successful applicants to take up their roles in the UK, France and Spain in summer 2016.

Since 1957 the company has specialised in educational activity courses, school trips, French language courses, children’s activity holidays, summer camps and ski trips, with 23 centres in the UK, France and Spain.

PGL have varied roles for next summer, including in retail, housekeeping, admin, maintenance, instructor positions, and language jobs. Positions are already filling up but the three we have highlighted below are all available now.

Catering Assistant
Catering assistants assist the chefs in preparing meals for both guests and staff, assist with food preparation, serve from canteen bays and keep the kitchen areas clean and tidy. Previous catering experience isn’t required as PGL provide comprehensive training, however among the things they look for are enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.

Tour Leader
Part of the language team, tour leaders take PGL’s guests on trips to Paris to visit the Eiffel Tower or the Lourve, and on cruises down the Seine River. Applicants should be fluent, degree level French speakers, with excellent organisational skills, knowledge of France, and previous experience of working with children in either a voluntary or paid capacity.

Paddlesports Instructor
Most of PGL’s centres in France and Spain have already completed their intake of paddlesports instructors for 2016 but Château du Tertre, in rural Normandy, is still in need of staff, as are centres in the UK. A UKCC Level 1 paddlesports award is needed to be considered for this position but don’t worry if you don’t have one. PGL are holding training courses early next year. Applicants should have previous experience of working or volunteering with young people, boundless energy and a real love of all things outdoors.
