Travel Photo Facts: Theatre of Ancient Philippopolis, Plovdiv, Bulgaria

Despite a history stretching back more than 8,000 years, Plovdiv’s most impressive building from antiquity was only rediscovered a few decades ago. The Theatre of Ancient Philippopolis was only found when a landslide caused by engineers tunnelling underneath one of the city’s hills revealed the site.
