Working Abroad Resources

A compilation of all our jobs abroad and volunteer work articles, plus links to useful information on our other sites

Though our sites are dedicated to helping those who otherwise couldn’t afford to travel widely by providing information on finding jobs abroad and volunteer work, we consider The Working Traveller to be as much a travel site and centred on the reason we are looking to work overseas in the first place. Take away the desire to explore Europe or experience daily life in Chiang Mai, Cusco or Cape Town and we might as well stay at home where wages are generally higher and jobs more secure.

As The Working Traveller is getting pretty big now I thought it would be a good idea to collect together all our features and other information on working abroad and pin it permanently to our home page. Some visitors may also not be aware that TWT is only part of what we do. For links to and more information on all our working abroad sites please visit www.payaway.co.uk where some of our standout features include:

The Really Really Big Page of Ways to Get Paid to Travel or Save Money as a Volunteer – So you want to work abroad but don’t know what to do huh? Well it’s a big world so we have put together a big article with over 600 suggestions to match the sheer number of diverse things you could find yourself doing to make a buck in Barcelona or save one in Bogota.

Ask the Experts – Experts are we? Good grief, we’re not talking about us! You guys still insist on asking our advice though, so we came up with our usual idea when confronted with a problem: get someone else to do it. Hence, we are rounding up our travel blogger friends and inviting them over to ours to give you first hand answers to your questions on working and volunteering abroad.

Work Abroad Wall – Join us on twitter or facebook where we frequently share useful things we find on working abroad, gap years, travelling the world and living abroad. Alternatively bookmark this page to find a number of helpful twitter searches in one place, including #workabroad, #gapyear, #skijobs and #housesitting.
